@spraoi Some people don't like the boost notifications. Other people don't like that their server shares with tags.pub through the relay interface. I'm sure there are lots of other reasons!

Everyone should have control over how their content is used and distributed, to the extent possible.

We'd rather that people participate in the global conversation and support users on servers of all sizes, but if they don't want to, it's important to give them an easy exit.
