@cstross There is more spine in a portion of Jellied eels!
@cstross The UK PM's official press conference:
@cstross @newsguyusa The UK is in an invidious position when its prime ally and provider of key technologies goes evil. They have us by the short and curlies and any push back could be made very painful very quickly (eg: MS365 being turned off by presidential dictat). Yes this is a profoundly crap response and something better should be done. I’m not sure what the exact shape of that is though. Steps to reduce out dependency would be a good start.
@bjn @newsguyusa Note that Office365 ("now with added AI!") is mostly foisted on SoHo users who can't afford a standalone or enterprise license without all the crapware bloat. Still, it'd cause havoc for small businesses—and then there's Oracle, without which most government activity would grind to a halt.
He's going more grey by the minute. He's not trump and can't get away with being trump, so he's basically doomed.
Keir would like to speak to the manager.
@cstross I think he's being held up with a bamboo garden stick. Quite impressive for a jellyfish.
@cstross what spine? The man was born without spine, or conscience.
