He said the #FBI informed the #BCA later Wednesday that the #USattorney’s office had changed the plan.

“The investigation would now be led solely by the FBI, & the BCA would no longer have access to the case materials, scene evidence or investigative interviews necessary to complete a thorough & independent investigation,” Evans wrote.

#Minnesota AG Keith Ellison just reacted to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension being forced to withdraw from investigating the fatal #ICE #shooting in #Minneapolis after the #FBI “took control” of the case, saying it is “deeply concerning, extremely disappointing.”

Before hearing the news, Ellison said he was still trying to reverse the #federal govt’s course.

“I’m still trying to say: Wait a minute, don’t do this stupid thing! Do not go forward with an exclusive, which would be an inherently untrustworthy investigation. Do what is right, do what is wise, do what is best for this country, & have an inclusive joint investigation that includes cooperation by state & local authorities,” he said.
