Farah Diba in a glamour shot, dressed in a floor-length wool cardigan and gown, exquisitely embroidered with Iranian motifs. when i was a kid, she was the most famous of a literal handful of women of color who got to be on fashion magazines. in Vogue Latinoamérica ―which was published in Venezuela―, it was her and Bianca Jagger. seriously, just the two. when i tell you, Iran and Venezuela are tethered, wether they like it or not, by the petromafia, believe me. something as inocuous as 1970s Latin American fashion magazines are the tell.
