Anyone who thinks that lab-grown meat is "icky" has clearly never been to a slaughterhouse.

Well, you don’t kill an animal and that’s definitely better but consolidating the production of the food supply into a company like Monsanto doesn’t seem like a smart way to go either.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want the food production system to become more consolidated than it is.
@petergleick I personally enjoy meat, but have cut significantly back on it the past few years for both economic, environmental and health reasons. But if I could buy meat that was cheaper, had a smaller environmental footprint, just as tasty and (un)healthy and could be produced without killing any animals, I'd say bring it on!
Imagine thinking that the same product is ickier without the fear, suffering, death and filth than with it.

@petergleick The only reason I'd find artificial meat "icky" is that it resembles real meat too much.
@petergleick
Or a barn at a dairy!
@petergleick Also, carbon emissions from meat production or quite icky.
