Totally silly life hack when creating a physics based character that you want to stay upright and don't want to write all that fancy code for self-righting: move their center of gravity below the character's actual collision shape and let the physics engine do all the work for you... Tempted to have a play with Zen browser as it seems well presented and has sensible UI defaults.

But apart from a quick look and feel test run, using a browser for 'real' involves a fair amount of trust: anyone had any good or bad experiences?
