@pwloftus @futurebird Daughter turned me on to "Laid" a some years ago, and personally, I think it's a #2 not a #3
I mean no offence, de gustibus non est disputandum.

@tychotithonus Firefox 146.0.1 from the Play store on a Pixel 6 Pro
There’s a great blog on detecting MongoBleed exploitation via Velociraptor https://blog.ecapuano.com/p/hunting-mongobleed-cve-2025-14847
I set up a honeypot for MongoBleed on a legit MongoDB instance, yolo and all that.
Engaging in the traditional family activities for this time of year (grinding levels in Gauntlet with my kids while yelling STOP SHOOTING THE FOOD)
@JessTheUnstill wild. I don't have "report broken sight" either ...

Ya ever have someone that you really believe is on your side, who is well-behaved, and thoughtful, whose heart is absolutely in the right place, but for some reason you just don't fuckin' like 'em?
@GeePawHill yes, and it's baffling
@evan I use steam sometimes, I have purchased maybe 10 games in as many years. Every time that a social feature window opens up, after having pressed the wrong key, I hate it for interrupting my game play.
Typewriter-repair-class skills I possess:
I can make an RS-232 cable quick like a bunny, chop-chop.

How do I trigger PWA install of InfoSec.exchange on Android?
The manifest.json for infosec.exchange has this clause:
"prefer_related_applications": true
From my naive research, this is what is preventing me from saving a link to this site as a PWA on my desktop?
@tychotithonus very strange, because mine does and I have no idea what might be different. I don't do anything special with it
@JessTheUnstill huh, interesting! Wouldn't be the first time I'm the corner case ...
If you've never had your government seek to destroy your nation, I doubt you really know what that's like.
@GeePawHill
I'll add, if your government tried to destroy your group, that doesn't give you a pass to turn around and destroy other groups. *cough* Mormons *cough*
@JessTheUnstill Yeah, in theory, usually. But not there here. I think the browser decides whether or not to show that to you based on that clause in the manifest, which Chrome seems to respect but Firefox does not. But if I save it as a PWA in Firefox, it will launch as Firefox, which is not what I'm looking for.

As a courtesy, I smiled and complimented someone on their 'shine rye at Thanksgiving. I have just received a pint of it as a gift.
I tell you what, it'll not only put hair on your chest, it'll strip the gunk off an old V-8 engine w/nothing more than a chamois.
I'm a drinker, and I drink straight whiskey, and I am serious: this is not a liquor you ever want to drink when you're still sober. Put a buzz on first, to numb your senses, cuz you do *not* want to accidentally taste it.
Hahaha yesterday (Dec 26) was my birthday and none of you even knew it!
In other news, I rather like the design below and wonder what to do with it, and things like it.
@RonJeffries Happy Birthday! (It's still your birthday in my time zone).
@jacques I've worked with a team that has no local dev environment and a 40-minute CI pipeline, so single-character changes take 40 minutes to test
I brought it up once, detected inexplicable resistance, and have never mentioned it again because I just knew they really, really want to build the pyramids the old way
I actually feel a bit better because I thought Pivots would have some magic that allowed them to broach the topic
@ludicity tests? CI pipeline? Ha. I’ve worked in Perth mate.
Pivotal’s trick was to take people to space and do a few laps of the solar system. Tell someone something they think is impossible and they’ll ignore it. Show them a few times and it starts to sink in.
The Algamest was mostly unquestioned for centuries. I’ve read some excerpts and I see why people found it compelling and the alternatives absurd. But if they’d been able to fly past the moon…
