Barn owls have excellent low-light vision, and can easily find prey at night by sight.

[This is facilitated by one ear opening being higher on the skull than the other--giving them 2-axis discrimination for sound. Most birds/animals only get left vs right.]
They can catch mice in complete darkness in the lab, or hidden by vegetation or snow out in the real world. #Birds #Hearing

Gisteravond genoten we van een try-out van Solanum. De band is geïnspireerd door geluiden opgenomen door een mini-microfoon op de rug van een trekkende lepelaar, van Schiermonnikoog tot Marokko. Zo slaat Solanum de brug tussen #wetenschap en #cultuur.
Solanum zal ook spelen op het openingsfeest van project "Natuur op het strand" op zaterdag 25 april, op het strand van #Schiermonnikoog https://dewittehaas.nl/feest/
