moving from the US to a small country actually doesn’t feel claustrophobic at all to me; it just makes me more aware of how much stuff there really is on a local scale

Color me envious.
I lived in Luxembourg for a while (25 years ago) and explaining that my city in the US had twice the population of the whole country occasionally blew some minds.
(I had one guy ask me “you’re from Texas? Do you know my friend John??”)
@0xabad1dea It's interesting how everything is much more spread out in the USA, or alternatively how much more compact Europe is. (Never been to anywhere in Asia, so I can't compare with there.)
