@jameshowell I think there's a customisation option to not mess with the fringed but otherwise: (set-face-atttribute 'olivetti-fringe nil :background 'unspecified :foreground 'unspecified :inherit 'default) might do the job (or maybe try :inherit 'unspecified first)

@cmccullough @viz Turns out! There was still some bizarre behavior between modus-themes and Prot's spacious-padding-mode.
This modus-themes variable fixes everything!

@jameshowell @cmccullough BTW check M-x customize-group RET olivetti RET once because I think you can make it tweak just the margin. Would avoid the whole mumbo jumbo with the fringe customisation altogether
@viz @cmccullough The ACTUAL issue was a weird interaction between spacious-padding and modus-themes that I never did figure out. But when I found the modus-themes-common-palette-overrides parameter, boom, fixed
