Currently I’m with my mom for a few days and I noticed her Facebook and Instagram feed..
I think about half is #AI generated slop..
And she has no clue whatsoever
This is such a massive difference from just a few years ago, personally I really think AI slop is a plague, I certainly don’t wanna host it myself

Yes. . .I knit & crochet, I quit following crochet groups on traditional social media because so much of it was obviously AI. . . .

@stux the point is that they can claim to have a social network with tons of users (humans or not they don't care)

@stux They just care about "green number go up", and if the AI slop helps with that, well…
@stux Whatever makes the most money for #Meta is fine with them. May it be dark patterns to hook teenagers on their services, may it be AI slop. Whatever generates engagement and sells ads - It's their game.
Honestly I think corporate run "social networks" need warning labels and an independent control instance not based in the US of A - And fines based on revenue that may ruin the company.

She really doesn’t know the difference so reporting or hateful replies do not really work
