8 January 1894 | Fr. Maximilian Kolbe, OFM, was born in Zduńska Wola.
As a prisoner of #Auschwitz at the end of July 1941, he sacrificed his life to save a person selected for starvation death after an escape. On 14 August 1941, he was murdered with a phenol injection.
