Nesrine Malik focusses on the contempt the powerful feel for the rest of us (they are the 'grown-ups' in the room) and how this links the various strands of the Peter Mandelson appointment & the Epstein network.

As she suggests, the divorce of principle from politics is now becoming highly evident, but it is not a problem that will be quickly solved, and certainly not by *this* political class.

We urgently need a different politics!
