The moss consist of small upright stems, standing a bit apar with long spiky green leaves growing out from all along the stem, pointing up and out. In the middle of the frame, the tips of a pair of orange-brown pine needles sticks up from among the moss. partly covering the moss, mostly on the left side, is partly melted snow, forming small glowing white round crystals. most of the picture is out of focus, giving a gentle blur to the shapes of the snow and moss, with only a thin plane that is sharply in focus.
