Another idea would be to create a new medical role that sits in between doctors and nurses so that you can increase the speed to market of educated health personnel who would be able to handle 70-80% of all common complaints.

In sweden it takes 6 years + additional on the job training to get a doctor out. That's insane! I'm 100% convinced that you could educate a junior doctor in 3 years that could take care of a lot of common problems.

@ChrisMayLA6 Imagine if governments were mandated to supply reason, rationale, and logistical impact of proposed cuts - to anything.

When you cut something already bleeding like the NHS, the full cost of the consequences across systems will be guaranteed to exceed savings.

It is as if such thinking is simply never even entertained as viable.

@ChrisMayLA6 💯 Even equipment like handrails & toilet frames. Patient can be stuck in hospital waiting for these things. Every day patient is not up & about they are losing ability.

It's also a major cost, the most expensive place to house someone receiving medical care is a hospital.
