What space fact blew your mind when you first learned it?
Me, as a kid:
• The Sun has a limtied lifetime, and in 5 billion years it will swell up and swallow Mercury, Venus, and maybe the Earth 🤯
• Some guy (Eratosthenes) measured the circumference of the Earth in the third century BC, using shadows 🤯
• All the atoms in my body were created in the hearts of stars, or during massive stellar explosions (except hydrogen, which is almost as old as the universe) 🤯
• Black holes, ‘nuff said 🤯

The FAA once said that pieces of space debris “pose a significant risk,” but the Trump administration has backed off a rule that would have required companies like Elon Musk’s SpaceX to remove rocket parts from orbit within 25 years of launch.
