The Margaret Atwood vision of the USA continues to become more & more prescient.... we are seeing the Handmaidenisation of the USA.
What was once science fiction is now public policy.... and in the UK there are people f the right who no doubt see this sort of move as entirely justified pronatalsm.
@ChrisMayLA6 the whole point of the Handmaid's Tale is that most of it has happened to women already somewhere in the world at some point in time. Atwood is clear about this.
The sooner people stop holding it up as some outlandish misogynistic endgame perhaps the sooner we can make more progress against the reality.
