@ChrisMayLA6 The Police have *never* been about protecting and serving the PEOPLE.

Their entire raison d'etre is to violently suppress any dissent by those who do everything on behalf of those who own everything.

The violence, theft, rape and murder are PERKS of the job.

@ChrisMayLA6 policing is fundamentally not "a service that is meant to serve communities" - if it were, it wouldn't be allowed to keep operating in flagrant contradiction of that goal with impunity.
Policing is a service to the ruling class, that is meant to keep the ruled in their place. None of what they are allowed to get away with is inconsistent with that goal. "Rule of law" is just a propaganda term for "rule by the ruling class." Police are full of abusers because abuse is the whole point

@ChrisMayLA6 I think the idea they need to put their house in order is last it’s sell by date. They’ve been agreeing to do that for decades. Disband and completely rethink law and order is actually what’s needed I believe. Any resources should be focused at the big players - and a lot more into sorting out poverty…

@ChrisMayLA6 Abusive, coercive, racist, lying, rapist, police exist in every force. What’s shocking is how many there are and how many more there seem to be. They are not learning from the exposure of others: those training and /or supervising police forces are not implementing appropriate measures to weed this out or stop it. Such officers should be suspended immediately and their investigation and case fast tracked. They should not be allowed to resign to avoid punishment if found guilty.
