@ProPublica Thanks for the "heads up": I'd occasionally make monkey sounds, much to an Asian friend's amusement, but while eating a banana and I'll go rock climbing several times a week, so the monkey sounds were me making fun of me. Plus there's a very funny article written decades ago by a British climber, Tom Patey, entitled "Apes or Ballerinas."

@ProPublica This is an uplifting story before my first cup of coffee, NOT! I was taunted for being the only Asian in grade school in PA in the early '60s. On even days, the white kids beat me up and, on odd days, it was the black kids' turn. One big white kid picked me up by the ankles and pounded my head into the ground to "straighten my eyes."
