The Police. Outlandos d'Amour
The Police, and Sting's subsequent career confirmed the promise of their first LP, but it remains a classic of either music fusion or (perhaps) appropriation blending a British pop sensibility with production mores drawn from the Jamaican reggae scene. Like other LPs in this series, its an album that redefined what music might sound-like & the spacey, sparse production has been highly influential.
