@joXn @oneiros @graydon Anyway, I no longer get translated into German. (Heyne cater to an aging, less-educated audience who like old-fashioned/simpler fiction than I tend to write. Think Perry Rhodan alternatives, or maybe "The Expanse". We parted company over "Rule 34" ...)

@OlliSaurus @joXn @oneiros @graydon I read some of the Perry Rhodan translations into English that Orbit commissioned in the early-to-mid 1970s, mostly from the first 20 originally published. I suspect that's from before they got experimental ...

@cstross @joXn @oneiros @graydon as i understand it, Perry Rhodan was quiet the revolution for *german* sf even then. But yes, once the first generation of authors bowed out it got more ... experimental. Always in consideration of its way of publication, of course. If you read books, then i suspect you got a condensed version of the magazine.
