@LindseyBonnette My favorite by far is #TTRPG reviews, or discussions of books generally even if it's just a nostalgic "Why this book rocked my world 7 years ago" type thing.

After that it's definitely technique articles, whether for GMing or designing or related craft like map drawing or producing player handouts.

After that, other forms of directly-usable resource. A listicle of 15 historical poisons, frex.

Then, stories of notable table moments, often with reflections on lessons learned.

Frex is new to me and that is so much better than ie.

Do you go in for positive or negative reviews or a mix? A lot of the places I've found that do reviews (with some notable exceptions) are incredibly narrow viewed and negative of anything outside that. Which would be fine, but I've not found someone with similar tastes to me.

@LindseyBonnette Honestly, I kind of ignore the positivity or negativity of a review, on the grounds that nobody likes the stuff I like anyway. 😅

Similarly, I ignore all play reports, in review context.

To me it's about getting a peek into the workings of the design, so the reviews I most love are those that demonstrate both an understanding of design and an ability to describe it well.

Some of my very favorite reviews, I disagree with 100% on the subjective stuff! But, they inform me.

That's pretty good reasoning, maybe next time I see a review I'll try and give it a read with that light rather than my usual.
