There was yet another •massive• ICE OUT rally in Minneapolis today. No idea what the numbers were.
This is separate from the people getting arrested last night protesting a hotel where ICE was staying, and the people protesting the federal building where they stage.
Really hard to tell how large because it was spread out along the length of the street.
Most accurate crowd estimate I’ve heard so far is “goodness that was a lot of people,.”
Having dinner on Lake St hours after the big protest, we saw not one but two smaller anti-ICE protest groups pass by. The atmosphere tonight is restless, jubilant, nervous, empowered.
Make that three: tiny group with signs passed by as we were on our way out
Here in Saint Paul, there were people protesting ICE spread out across many intersections - even if individual groups have been small.
@inthehands Here they are having a car caravan tomorrow (and you can also cheer them on along the way or meet at the endpoint).
I may just go with my bicycle and maybe they'll climb out of their car-culture shell enough to recognize that other vehicular options will legally slow things down. They are perhaps recognizing the University is Still OUt for Holidays and this will magnify impact of, say, 50 people... I dunno.
