I am violently allergic to poetry and generally ignore it—nuanced exception: song lyrics. So … Gary Numan? Trevor Horn? Alanis Morisette?

@cstross Most poetry doesn’t do much for me.
Emily Dickinson was nearly ruined by someone pointing out that all her poems can be sung to The Yellow Rose of Texas.

@cstross I'm serious. If you're only associating him with folks who claimed he turned them on to Ayn Rand, he did grow up (unlike said folks).
@cstross Does Tolkien count? I tend to skim the poetry, but it's there.
