Who is the He-Man movie for?
I watched the cartoon as a kid (and loved it) but I am 47 years old and am not compelled to see it. Maybe on a plane, I guess.
It's also a product of its time and I'm not compelled to share it with my kid.
Like, what's the market for it?
@ben As a child of the 80s, I was surprised that the trailer didn't hook me. It looks like a boring action flick — but I was never a fan of the Transformers or GIJoe movies either. Maybe it's for them?
I'm willing to be surprised. I had zero expectations for Barbie. Maybe He-Man will be a super smart critique of how gender roles have evolved in the last four decades?
@ben People our generation who haven't grown up in terms of cultural tastes. Sadly there are quite a few. You know the adults who debate very seriously who is the strongest between this super hero and that super hero, the toxic part of the Star Wars fandom... Those kinds of people? Just a guess...

@ben@werd.social Such a weird franchise to reboot. Especially because stylistically it looks very similar to the last movie version, which while not high art was really good at nailing that style.
