Assuming the current outbreak of fascism in the US won't last forever, in any case I think we need to ditch the idea that executives doing lots of in-person interccontinental travel is essential to trade and prosperity, because there's no way we can meet our climate goals without dramatically resucing the amount of aviation that goes on.

@ChrisMayLA6 How ironic that a convicted felon parading as a US dictator would refuse visas to UK executives with minor criminal convictions. Perhaps the UK should refuse visas to US government officials with any sort of criminal record.

@ChrisMayLA6 I’m reminded of the final act of Arlo Guthrie’s ‘Alice’s Restaurant’, where the draft board are concerned that he might not be moral enough to go to Vietnam and ‘burn villages, women and children’ because he’s convicted of litterin’ (and had to go pick up the garbage). The American way.

@ChrisMayLA6 This is harsh, but there is an element of equity to the harshness. Historically, minor offences have in effect been overlaid by wealth and/or professional success. If corporate executives stop getting it easy, surely that's a welcome development?
