One of my favourite treats in the Netherlands and Belgium is ontbijtkoek. It's a spicy sweet breakfast cake that I usually eat toasted with butter.

One thing I've never heard of is the game koekhappen, which I guess is sort of like bobbing for apples or pin the tail on the donkey or a piñata -- kids try to bite a piece of ontbijtkoek on a rope.
