Another day of mixed programming and Oxygen Not included. Continuing from my previous threads here:
Heading in to the weekend -- I'm semi-retired, so weekend doesn't mean much to me, but whatever -- and that means some more of Oxygen Not Included.
Continuing on from here:
It is c120. This is always the time where I have a lot of trouble focusing. Most of my runs end between here and c200, as I get disgusted and bored.
There are *so* many things that need doing. It's hard to pick one or two.
The news: 1) we have a glossy drecko egg, so we'll have a bit of plastic in <10 cycles. 2) we have four exosuits down at the bottom so we can start digging down there.
Okay, pick two things, Geepaw, pick two things.
1) Let's analyze that cool salt slush geyser. That will give us enough data banks to get the last shipping research.
2) Let's power up the drecko ranch from the grid, which will make space so we can build water processing, the bathroom, and the hospital just below the dreckos.
Right, then, it's Saturday, let's get serious.
It is c130, census 14.
We have a proper washroom, and we have all the shipping research. The cool salt slush geyser is capped, but not tapped.
There is so much work to do!
Okay, fine. Pick two things.
1) Start capturing nasty gas, cuz it's pushing up in to the bottom of the base.
2) Pump one of the remaining fresh water pools for the bristles and research.
c135, both tasks accomplished.
And again, two tasks. (I have to do it this way, cuz there's so many possibilities, and I am notorious for losing focus.)
1) Head downward and rightward, cuz a) that cool steam vent will be our o2 water going forward, and b) there's a major volcano somewhere, and we want to find it.
2) Start swapping in stone hatches instead of regular ones, and throw together a quick ranch for smooth hatches. (There's an achievement based on them.)
Our first glossy drecko hatched, and has been sheared twice, so we have 300kg of plastic, which is awesome.
Why is plastic so valuable? 1) Steam turbines need it, and are the only good way to use magma power. 2) Liquid naptha (melted plastic) is a great coolant for high-temperature rigs, like a metal refinery.
At c140, we've blueprinted in an infinistore for the cool steam vent. Pretty much no matter what happens, we'll be using all that hot water to feed our o2 store. This will take a little time, so I'm still going to pick two smaller tasks on the other side of the atmo suits.
1) Let's actually tap that cool salt slush geyser upstairs and get it into an infinistore.
2) Let's grab the remaining cool h2o pool and hook it into the bristles/research area.
