instead of flat out denying there's use cases for LLMs, let's build the thing. open source, running locally, integrated with what already works, for solving actual problems people have.
@lzg I'm slightly skeptical about their paid plan since their "curated" LLM provider list includes OpenAI. I'm also skeptical about any company that offers a subscription plan at all, even alongside a free plan, because the next enshittification step is to remove the free plan.
That said, I really appreciate how transparent they are today about what gets stored where, and that they provide clear instructions for setting up a local LLM.
@dave but isn't it a "bring your own model" situation? as in, you can use whatever you want? I'm not against subscriptions because I don't know how else to make an open source project get any reliable money.
