@gunstick @david_chisnall @koakuma @regehr From what I understand they tried to patch around this for a while in the GCC fork they were using but it was a can of worms.
Years into the console cycle they had SN Systems develop their own compiler that had more sophisticated analysis around this and lowered the "clearlady tax" as I've seen it called substantially, but it never entirely went away.
And that's just one of the many issues with that system.
