@ChemicalEyeGuy I'm not sure there's ever been a time in recorded history when US public schools have been considered to be leading, unfortunately. But I agree that we should get there.

@ben lol
fascism is rule of most reactionary circles of major capital who substitute class struggle with "we need to stand together, worker and capitalism, because foreign capitalists want to conquer you" struggle. Sounds familiar I wager :)
It'll take another 50,000 years or 500,000,000 more warheads to start a change in us.
Then it'll be all like Thundarr the Barbarian.
The good news is, Elon Musk is never getting his dopey nazi junkie ass of this rock either.
@ben No. Not unless the #PublicEducation system in the #UnitedStates is returned to its former leading and respected status. 🤷🏻♂️

@ben I believe the #UnitedStates was the first country to offer free and compulsory #PublicEducation *nationally*. That’s what I meant by “leading”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_education_in_the_United_States
Our public #education system has been eroding for several decades, and it is NOT the fault of only one political party.
@ben I'm sorry to say, Ben, but answer will again be "No"; as it has been over and over, generation after generation.
but the alternative was a WOMAN and she was BROWN, Ben
@ben Alas, nope, the way it works for most people is that real, actual pain must occur first, then and only then it can motivate action. As in, don't pull one's hand away from a hot burner, until it hurts.
