@ben I believe the #UnitedStates was the first country to offer free and compulsory #PublicEducation *nationally*. That’s what I meant by “leading”. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_education_in_the_United_States
Our public #education system has been eroding for several decades, and it is NOT the fault of only one political party.

@ben Alas, nope, the way it works for most people is that real, actual pain must occur first, then and only then it can motivate action. As in, don't pull one's hand away from a hot burner, until it hurts.
