Because it makes a point.

One of, if not the most popular webcomic in the world is just stick figure drawings.
It's also really cool to go back and start a long running comic from the beginning and see how their art style evolved over time. And I don't just mean from "bad" to "good." That's what happens with a creative endeavor - it often has a life of its own. It's a product of the thousands of little choices people make, consciously and unconsciously, when they make art.
These are some key things that get filtered out when you generate something from a prompt.
@jargoggles Absolutely!
I get people comparing themselves to artists who they think are more talented, but there is such a wide array of styles and ways to express yourself that's always worth exploring.
And people almost universally appreciate authenticity.

I make progress with master studies, but the art people appreciate most are the ones not trying to be anything like anyone else’s work, but take what I’ve learned and liked by those studies, and artists are always experimenting, with a beginner exploratory mindset, a process of discovery, research…so much more than aesthetics.
Art is an expression that can only be understood & expressed by mortal life. It’s our fragility & strength facing it that makes art what it is.
