The lessons of history (specifically Vietnam) suggest it may well do, which offers little hope of an early resolution & peace for the Iranians, and a continuation of the ramping up of tensions across the Middle East, with considerable impact on the global system.
No good will come of this... as is already clear!
@ChrisMayLA6 I honestly think it is worse than that. If that's possible. Venezuela is almost certainly going to fight them. Especially as trump is so... scattered now militarily. Look at what they are doing to Cuba. We are already in the initial plays of ww3, we have been for a while.
There are over 50 current conflicts ongoing around the world. That's got to be close to ww2 levels.
The world is a tinderbox at the moment, and trump is strutting around with a lit Marlborough.

@ChrisMayLA6 I think the key to a successful end to the special military operation (pun intended!) is that the US allies itself closely with the rest of arabia, and that they then in a synchronized fashion lob in bombs from all surrounding countries.
On the ground, they need to carve out a part of the country for the kurds, and the rest for a western oriented iranian state, for the iranian people.
I think with this 1-2, massive bombing, and then cleaning up on the ground by kurds and iranians, it should be over in a couple of months.
but at what cost? Corpses don't need homes
@ChrisMayLA6 yes. Anyone old enough to accurately remember Vietnam from sources other than Hollywood should spot the recipe for a drawn out and ultimately expensive both economically and in humanitarian aspects.
