Making the most of what I have… it’s a weird jury rigged set up; but this is how I’m able to plane the rough edge flush and square with just hand tools.

That’s my granddads old hand plane; so about 70yrs old.

Yes that’s an asbestos garage roof. Yeah; I need to save money and get it replaced.

@mattwilcox if it works it works. and if the asbestos roof isn't flaking apart then it's mostly harmless

@Mutedog I painted the underside a couple years ago juuuuust in case it was flaking on a microscopic level. But yeah; it needs to go.

Ash is bloody hard work with hand tools.

@mattwilcox yes. I remember resharpening my planes about every 20 mins when working with ash. I think it's the best smelling hard wood though
