@abraxas3d Yet on the algorithm driven networks, even nobodies can "go viral" and somehow become "influencers". Without any algorithm, Fediverse is much harder to go viral and build any sort of audience. Which means late joiners are just kinda stuck as a permanent underclass.
@abraxas3d Not that big audiences are the end all be all, for sure. But I'm sure my experiences here where most anything I shitpost about will at least get a half dozen likes from my regulars and sometimes a comment or two. And for my bangers, I've often gotten dozens of likes and boosts. I wouldn't be nearly as engaged here if most of my posts just disappeared into the void and nobody even clicked like on it.
