I would like to know about your music. Please tell me: what was the last track that came up for you on shuffle that reminded you, I haven't heard this in a long time, but this song is great?
(Boosts welcome, let's share some great music.)

@mhoye I don't normally shuffle my whole collection (I have a very short and very tightly curated playlist) but I put it on a bit and this came up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dfscOBQ_Bo

@mhoye it didn't come up on shuffle but something I was listening to gave me Tori Amos - Professional Widow (Armand van Helden remix) vibes and I immediately went and listened to it. https://youtu.be/Zqae5qyopok

@mhoye The last two I can remember:
(Side note: TIL Tom Waits did an actual video for “Downtown Train”)

@mcaloney @mhoye I love that video. It's always fun seeing Waits perform. Especially in the 70s and 80s.
Last one for me was some Chicago

Random bandcamp find a couple of years ago I think? I know nothing about them.
(I shuffle over my own library only, so there's a reasonable amount of repetition...)
@mhoye “Across this Antheap,” XTC
@mhoye Living Colour - Fight the Fight
It came up on the shuffle in my head, probably because my subconscious thought: here, this is a relevant song to what you're witnessing

@peturdainn @mhoye Cult of Personality came up the other day.
YouTube
@djb @peturdainn This song has not aged a day.
@mhoye @peturdainn then I remember RATM and Insurge and Fun:da:Mental and SNOG and PWEI

@mhoye I was listening to the album again recently and out of all the tracks, this one is still bouncing around inside my head for a couple of weeks:

@mhoye The other day, I was reminde of my teenage years with Natasha Bedingfield's amazing Unwritten.
I love that song.

This came up on shuffle the other day; I used to play this routinely on guitar, I should take it out for a spin again some time. Rich Woman by the Fabulous Thunderbirds. SRV gets all the attention, but I think Jimmy Vaughan's playing was as good, if not better.

@mhoye
Oh wow. I was big into Beulah in the early 2000s and recently I thought, “oh yeah, Beulah!”
Hadn’t heard them in YEARS.
Yesterday at the gym I dug up their stuff on my phone and this song came on while I was doing my wimpy bicep curls.
Instantly transported to 25 years ago.

@mhoye With TMBG having released a new album, I've been trawling through their older stuff, and I was reminded how much I enjoy the absolutely surreal Cowtown. Not high art, and clearly not one of their more recognized and celebrated tracks, but it makes me smile.
Also, Don't Lets Start remains a banger, IMHO.
