Pass the bong
@GossiTheDog We’re way past the bong on that one.
Now that we’re home, we were able to dig up a provisional leash that surely will last a few days until we can get a heavy-duty one. And I think I’ll institute a policy of replacing it every year for Christmas, because “it’ll last your dog’s whole life” wasn’t measured against Odins
The two days of not being able to use his halter were difficult because he wasn’t getting his usual sensory feedback and wasn’t aware of how much harder he was pulling me around.
@0xabad1dea
I think you shouid adapt a policy tot always have a spare ready at home.
@ryanc @reticuleena @Yonggan In this Moment Im with my notebook open at the „Heart of Gold“ (The Rocket 😉 in the entrance hall.
@padeluun @reticuleena @Yonggan just about there
The RAM crisis reminds me of my 2008 article on the ultimate physical limits of computing:
As of v0.21.6 SuperSonic now works directly from CDN - no special headers are needed - which makes deployment *dramatically* easier.
I now support two internal transport modes:
1. The original SAB (SharedArrayBuffer) which is marginally faster and less jittery - but requires stricter security flags
2. The new SAB-free system which can be deployed with ease.
Note SAB-free is now the default mode.

This means it's now possible to play with SuperSonic in Code Pens:
Complacency is over.
Security is our shared responsibility.
Here’s what we achieved in 2025:
✅ Cut red tape to rebuild European defence capabilities
✅ Readiness Roadmap 2030 to close gaps and boost EU industry
✅ €150 billion to support national defence investment
✅ Identified flagship projects for drones, air defence, and space security
✅ Cut regulatory barriers for rapid troop movement
✅ Innovation boost in AI, Quantum, drones, and space
Readiness 2030 starts now 👉 https://link.europa.eu/gMDFwG
Good to see this, the more dictators like Putin and Trump press the faster the EU should grow teeth. We do not need them generally. If only we can stick together!
(if you're curious, the Dutch label on them says "mini berliner" as the product name and "mini beignet" in the ingredients)
@0xabad1dea wait, Mini Berliner? Are they filled with jam?
Any movie where you leave the theater thinking "I would fuck that alien" is a good movie
@SwiftOnSecurity See, this is probably the main reason why I think the universe around us only seems void of life. Our planet is known among the Civilizations' Universal Members as the horny degen planet.
We just can't help but think about screwing them and otherwise wouldn't be taken seriously anyway, as we'd still be giggling at the acronym their name makes.
Forgive me Father, for I have sinned
... I laughed ...

@GentlemanTech Hah, yeah. I get emails every so often that go "How do I fix this company that is making <arbitrarily bad decisions>" and the answer is always "Just quit unless you're the CEO or the CEO has loaned you their god-powers".
I've worked out some preliminary non-CEO moves that at least get partial results, but all of them are only available to consultants, so even then the answer is "Quit and come back as a consultant".
@ludicity @GentlemanTech I finally found a good answer for "how do I change things at this institution" and it is being published in a few months:

The exploit is real and works, you can just run it and target specific offsets and/or keep running it until you get AWS secrets and such.
@GossiTheDog I checked the Mongo docker images. They didn't yet update any docker tags with the patched versions.
So actually while there is a patch, the community official "Mongo" docker image has no fixes yet...

This has been one of the most challenging and sad years of my life (so far). I can’t put a positive spin on it, but I guess more of weary acceptance that life goes this way sometimes, and even though I’m tired and beaten down I’m fortunate to still be here until I’m not. The only way out is through. So eff you 2025, good riddance. And thank you to everybody who showed grace and patience through everything.

@ryanc OK, fair.
I'm working hard on escaping my German heritage (and I'm German myself)
@jay_peper eh, I'm a euromutt, I don't fuss about it
