Enthusiasts launched a man from a moving truck in the opposite direction - at the same speed the car was traveling.
The experiment spectacularly showed how relative speed works.

@clarfonthey sadly this is not our first "your routine medication needs prior auth, it will take weeks" on this insurance 😖
@JoshJers yeah, and it's trash
hopefully you don't end up suffering for this too much, or at least maybe the company in question has a Luigi coming for them
teslas per square Planck length
@clarfonthey it’s a good framing.
The kind that are mentally healthy and have defining characteristics that don’t come from the DSM.
The vast majority of people are neurotypical, I worry that my writing is always going to be uncanny and leave readers disturbed, confused, and unable to connect with characters emotionally.
@NineIsntPrime I mean, that's fair, and you really can't exactly know these things unless you have an established audience with an opinion on it, since, well, writing is quite vague and weird and this kind of thing is hard to pin down
but, idk. folks like Tolkien became wildly successful and given his obsession with linguistics it wouldn't be surprising if he were autistic too. it feels like a lot more authors are autistic than folks realise, and maybe some of the tropes that show up in books are reminiscent of that
not like a few words are gonna make like, what appears to be a lifelong/career-long anxiety go away, but you're at least in good company

@JoshJers god that's such a shit situation to be in
it feels definitely like the hospital fucked up there since even if that's the case, they should have gotten prior auth… prior

@evan I would say no, if I'm understanding correctly. The browser should load b.example's content from b.example, not a copy from a.example . I'm mostly concerned about privacy here.
If a post or profile is *clearly* meant to be fully public to the world (and ideally it's hard for an author to do this by mistake), then I guess it's meant to be shared around, so sure, why not serve copies. Depending on the use case, there could be advantages to that.
Okay so had a minor surgery today (went fine), they call in prescriptions for post op pain meds (cuz ya know, SURGERY), get to the pharmacy and they're like "oh uh your insurance requires prior authorization for those, could take up to 3 weeks"
Fuck US health insurance

@NineIsntPrime I mean I guess this isn't a particularly helpful response, but maybe a comforting one: there are loads of beloved NT authors who have very consistent character archetypes
so I guess maybe the question isn't how to make a character who isn't autistic, but rather, what kinds of characters do you want to write that you feel you can't?

The only thing I love more than my game is the team I'm making this game with 😊
Y'all rock, @jadedtwin, @Tijn, and @hi_cial
@mcc I have the same issue with Samsung TV and the oficial dock. I read a lot of people talking about solutions like disable CEC, updates, insuficient power supply, wrong HDMI cable, turn on the deck unplugged... I have tried it all but the reality for me is that it works when it wants to.
Now I just restart with the dock plugged and it usually works in the first or second try.
@hipgnose we never had a problem until we got a new dock :(
Why can’t I boost this post? @mcc
@TheZwick32 because it is "followers only" visibility

@alienghic I mean, it's less that it can't be replaced, and more that it hasn't been
like, for example, computer parts made with copper are technically from american companies, and so even if the copper is sourced from outside the US, manufactured into stuff outside the US, and ultimately sold to a place outside the US, it's still subject to the tariffs
and since these companies are the ones taking up all the semiconductor manufacturing capacity it makes sense they're also taking up the copper capacity, and the change in supply/demand is being felt everywhere
and in this case, a German hardware manufacturer just wanting to buy copper without any involvement from the US gets to feel the US messing with copper prices
@GeePawHill I think her mom's identity overshadowed theirs.
@msbellows I spoze so. I didn't know *that*, either. :)

Worked on interaction today, and added a modifier button for complex selection.
Also, I noticed flickering when deselecting vertices, which means too many redraws, so there’s now update coalescing. I’m still in debug (CoreGraphics) drawing mode, but it’s noticeably faster.
@Tinrocket What are you working on exactly?
Finally finished the timelapse video of building my new garage. Even with timelapse and editing it is 150 minutes long - about a minute for each workday it took to build.
Not sure how many folks will watch it all, but it was interesting to make. Will post it soon.
@TomF I'm gonna make a timelapse of me watching it.
@msbellows Holy shit, Kate Hudson is a child of the Hudson brothers!?? TIL.
@GeePawHill I think her mom's identity overshadowed theirs.
