@mayintoronto All I will say is that, come the revolution, there will be certain, errrrr, *structural* adjustments.
@GeePawHill What you should be REALLY mad at me for, is that I prefer to game in windowed mode for most games.
Ya know what weirds me out? People who don't maximize their desktop programs.
@GeePawHill You probably clean everything off your desk before working on anything, don't you. One piece of paper at a time on the desk.
SUVs versus cyclists doesn't get much better. Again, this is an issue that affects Americans of all colors. But lack of safe cycling infrastructure means that places where Black people bike, tend to be significantly more dangerous than places where white people bike.
Per mile traveled, a Black cyclist is 4.5 times more likely to be killed than a white cyclist.

New blog post time!
This week's game is Firebugs, a stylish PS1 racer that combines high speeds with lots of items and manages to make it very approachable even if you're a racing game casual like myself. If you're fond of the Rollcage games, this is kinda like a third one by the same people!

@EphemeralEnigmas You’ve dug up another I’ve never heard of before!
I've been writing a blog series about automating AV archival workflows. Part 3 dropped today, and it's the one I'm most excited about. The post details the features and functionality of AV Spex, a Python app I wrote for the Smithsonian's NMAAHC. It wraps open-source tools like QCTools, MediaConch, and MediaInfo into a single GUI, checks files against expected specs, and collects everything into one HTML report.

@48kRAM I mean I already canceled my subscription and I’m gonna see if I can escape it entirely, not using it much anyway
@thomasfuchs I use it all the time - my main chat platform and keeping up w/ hobby friends. If I have to leave because too shitty I will be sad

@regehr this is bad for health
personally, if I was a company constantly getting clowned on for pushing AI into everything where it doesn't belong, I wouldn't break fucking notepad.
but that's just me.
The only thing I use Discord for really is to voice call friends from my PlayStation who are on Xbox when we play video games. It's one of those things where the only way to connect two vendor-locked platforms is by using a third vendor.
When people say "we can do that with a query", I always think to myself that we're gonna get some LGBTQ+ help.
I'm like, hey, cool, All the queeries are welcome here.

Naturally, I purchased the No ICE in Minnesota bundle (Cumberland also has some things in there) and now I'm playing the most harrowing game of all: scrolling through the thousands of things in the bundle to see if there's anything for a gamer like me. 😅
I've found a couple of _maybes_ and I'm on page 3 of 48, so that's encouraging!
If nothing else, the bundle includes some Android games.
If I find a little pile of stuff suitable for trad play, I'll write up a list to help others.
Following up ... I ended up downloading approximately 10% of the bundle (a lot more than I expected) as "maybe-shaped." I'm now working my way through them, deleting most as unsuitable, but moving some of them into a "Second Look" folder, which is probably actually a Third Look folder but I'm bad at math.
I believe I'll find _at least_ 20 or more things worth highlighting for Gamers Like Me. I'll do a blog post, to help promote the bundle, with those.
