#ScribesAndMakers day 1: What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

At least one chapter of my WIP. Preferably two, but I know that's not a reasonable target.

#ScribesAndMakers Day 1: What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

Mostly just write more and stay on top of the "hope I get done" list. I have so much that I want to do and that I haven't finished since fall and the spin out that happened when my thesis went sideways.

So my goal is to focus on me and getting my stuff done, and stop watching the news so much.

Also, get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable as I strive to put myself out there more for my creative endeavors

#ScribesAndMakers Feb 1: What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

Fill in the final gaps in my draft and get through one full edit pass. There's lots of good stuff that just needs to be welded together more tightly.

What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

Finally wrap up the paperback release of the latest book. Snafu on author proofs have delayed it by weeks.

And it's my own fault, dammit. :D

Stretch goal: Open a new file and begin again.

#ScribesAndMakers 1. What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

I'm unlikely to finish anything, but I'd like to make significant progress on the novel. I'm also working on a heraldic crest design so some progress on that would be nice.

#ScribesAndMakers 01
this coming month…

My creative ambition this month is quite simple, yet will require extraordinary effort. What I want to accomplish is to continue with editing Book 5.

That’s it. Simple, right?

Not so simple, not when what that looks like is having the discipline to tackle the task each day. The first third is done, but it’s the middle third that’s typically the most difficult for me.

It helps that I’m learning to make it easier.

#ScribesAndMakers for Feburary 1:

What's one creative thing you'd like to try and get done this month?

With how everything has kind of crunched up financially at the end of the month here, I think the best thing to do would be to finish something.

I could probably put a serious dent in the next Firmware Update for PETI. It's a direction-change away from what I was working on with that project up til now (the new hardware design), but it can be done at zero cost.

And we're about due.

#scribesAndMakers What's the one creative thing you'd like to do this month?

Get the first draft of the second Xanadu book finished. It is so nearly there. Just I'm rubbish at endings so I always take longer to get that the way I want it. Then ideally I would like to start plotting the third book properly as it's just a vague outline at the moment.

1. What's **one** creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

Realistically? I'm knitting a beanie hat for myself, I can get that done, and maybe even a pair of new fingerless gloves/hand warmers. The creative part is sorting all the little bits of yarn and arranging the colours. I have this stack of frogged and left-over yarn, but not enough of any sort for a complete project.
Won't get the editing done, but that's a 'will continue' and won't be finished in February.

#ScribesAndMakers Feb 1 - What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

A major revision for my project on the Victorian artist. There's a bit of history I need to introduce that's been revealed by the research. ...I should stop digging, sometimes I'm my own worst enemy. 🙂

What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

There's actually two main things:

(1) Finish plotting out Book IV
(2) Do one more edit to Book I before it goes to the editor near the end of this month

#ScribesAndMakers 02/01—What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

Gonna try making paperbacks for my upcoming book, and one for an older book, since it's getting a new cover.

Aside from that, get back into the habit of drafting weekly chapters for my ongoing serials.

#ScribesAndMakers 1. What's one creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

🔥 Actually finish Eternal Flame. There should only be two Kitana chapters left;
🗺️ Finish world-building and developing the SCs needed to start editing EF.
🪓 Write more chapters for Chronicles of the Red Dragon.

(And that's three things, but... ah, anyway, I was still too sleepy to see the "one creative thing" rule)

#ScribesAndMakers 1/2: What's 1 creative thing you'd like to get done this month?

Finish the strong first draft of the sequel to the Crooked Medium's Guide to Murder, holding title Crooked Medium Two and get it to betas. Absolute priority.

It is standing up well but I am making a policy decision to not use the full formality of Victorian etiquette where it might confuse the modern reader.

A book cover surrounded by the following aspects in matching Victorian lettering - spooky / Vicious Baronet / Spiritualist Scammers/ Hidden Crimes / older grumpy sapphics / snarky dock-lass/ twisty mystery / Lady in Danger/Queer Found Family

The Crooked Medium’s Guide to Murder by Stephen Cox
A striking book cover with the title and author name dominating.
A rich dark blue background, and a touch of mist. The text appears in gold in a gold rectangular frame, the font is old fashioned implying C19th century. The frame has three rondels or cameos each containing a picture. Top right is a golden bee brooch with the body and one wing streaked with red blood. Middle left is foxgloves, spires of small bell flowers in pink, white and purple. Bottom right is a dark brown medicine bottle, with a pale label. The word LAUDANUM is just visible.
There are pink highlights on some of the letters.
Taken together it is bold, mysterious, and Victorian.
