I'm starting to wonder if the underlying theme of most diversity is at it's core high sensitivity.

It appears even more so when turning things around from current mainstream behaviour and considering that (high) sensitivity is how all humans start (as babies), and how that appears to be unlearned instead of kept for later life.

Which leads me to my most recent theory for the current state of the world: too many highly insensitive people telling others what to do.

Just a heads-up: my light #historicalfiction THE PLAYERS ACT 1: ALL THE WORLD'S A STAGE is available for 99p (e-book) until 16th January.

It's about a down-on-their luck company of strolling players who have one last chance to save their theatre company.

Expect: #neurodiversity #LGBTQ #FoundFamily #ComedyAndTragedy #Shakespeare
and mischief and merriment.

If this sounds like your cup of tea/tankard of ale please check it out. Thank you!

A background of wooden boards. On it is a cover of Amy Sparkes' historical novel: The Players Act 1: All The World's A Stage. It's a parchment-coloured cover with the title on a ribbon tumbling down. Commedia dell'arte figures in purple are dotted around. There's a rosette saying '#1 bestseller'. On the right hand side of the cover is the heading: What Reviewers Say. underneath are quotes: "I was fully immersed in the world." "A rollicking yet poignant tale." "A true page-turner that made me laugh." "I kept reading way into the night." "Clever, funny and highly enjoyable." "Fun, merry, easy to read historical fiction."

Accessibility is a FOSS value. ♿️

You might ask why I advocate for #OpenSource so fiercely as a disabled creator. It is simple, proprietary software is a black box. If it doesn't work for your needs, you're stuck.

With #FOSS, the community can adapt, fork, and improve tools for everyone. Freedom isn't just for power users, it is for accessibility.

For instance, there is BRLTTY, which provides access to the Linux console for people who use a refreshable Braille display.

But people naturally think of physical disabilities when they consider accessibility. We also need tools for cognitive load and distraction. Tools like Logseq allow you to link thoughts non-linearly, making it easier to track projects when your brain feels scattered. Even the stability of Debian can be an accessibility tool for those of us who find the constant breaking changes of other OSs anxiety-inducing.

What is one FOSS tool that makes your life easier? gnu tux ♿️ 🏳️‍🌈

A smartphone showing the time as 10:35 AM and a pair of black rimmed glasses lie to the left. The scene is peaceful, human-led workspace, representing intentional and accessible technology.
