It is worth recalling that governments otherwise closely aligned with #germany during #worldwartwo tended to balk at handing over any of their citizens to #germany. This effect was offset to some extent by #vichyfrance denaturalising large numbers of recent immigrants - mainly #jews - who it had no compunction in handing over. Not an encouraging precedent!
