Well, once again the attraction of centralisation has proved to great....

GB Energy have scaled back by around two thirds the amount they were expected to spend on local community power projects (such as solar & heat pumps); about 2.5bn less.... but they're are pushing £2.5bn more into modular nuclear plants.

So less money on an efficient green local technology & more on a white elephant cooked up by the nuclear lobby.

Another betrayal of localism!

@ChrisMayLA6 Nobody anywhere has built a small modular reactor. There is zero evidence it can be done or will work effectively. We can’t even build a railway line for an existing technology without screwing it up and running way over budget…. Oh, I now see the benefit of allocating £2.5bn to SMRs #GravyTrain
