working on a #TTRPG adventure: a tale of defeating a rising fascist. oh...that's the adventure. fighting fascists and punching metaphorical nazis set in my peopletown world. the challenge is making it not boring for children because it'll be my kids that encounter them. when the details are worked out, i should publish it on my blog for the world.
@senchawizard I mean ... it's a dark but genuine truth that while fascists are terrible, they're also hilarious and pathetic in ways that kids can find really familiar. So, depending on where you want to go with it, that could be very useful in such a design.
@SJohnRoss too true! they're young (10 and 😄 and multi-ethnic (part random caucasian and west african). the 10-year-old is very frightened about the course of events here in the us. i figured this will help relive her anxieties, too.
@[email protected] @[email protected] The line from school yard bully and cronies to fascist dictator and cronies is short enough that I suspect 'punch a nazi' will have a very immediate appeal to most children.
@mavnn @senchawizard Exactly so. As long as you show how they behave ... kids will know exactly what they're dealing with.
