@shoq @airbagmoments I get very little engagement here on #Mastodon . Always have. And there have been other problems, too. Tribalism, mostly.
But I believe in the promise of this place, so I stick around. I just stopped being concerned with counts, and post what I feel like. I do the same over on #Bluesky.
It’s not counts that bother him, it’s engagements, and lack of thereof. Like me he’s watched for years as completely mediocre talents with mostly cliche to say, still benefit from years of network effects going back 20 years, while people actually trying to produce some sort of real value can’t break thru the noise.
