Is it common? Probably, although I've been out of the dating game for a couple of decades. Is it a useful red flag to let you know this person isn't mature enough for a solid relationship? Definitely. Important note though: I don't think having boundaries is the same as being transactional, and it can be worth some reflection on when certain actions are really one or the other.

Whelp. Turns out if you accidentally install the wrong version of Bonfire, realize, switch to the version you meant to run but forget to reverse the database migrations first... you can get into a situation where it starts recursively generating multiple access control rules on every incoming federation request as they aren't getting found and linked properly. How it was running at all with a couple of billion acl rows I'm not sure, but it is certainly responding a little bit more quickly now I've cleared them out.

Unfortunately none that solve my current issue, but I suspect that is largely because I'll trying to do something impossible to work around the constraints of other people's code and preferences. @[email protected] Unfortunately I don't know the difference as a fixed number; the level inbetween has a max-width set (and desired by the user) so the difference between its width and the "ancestor" depends on current viewport width. I was hoping there was some cunning way to infer it in "modern" css (I poke UIs occasionally, but the last time I did it full time was over twenty years ago).

Turns out searching for "make thing the same width as other thing in CSS" is surprisingly hard to specify tightly enough to get meaningful search results. Who would have thought...

I'm styling html I don't control, and I want to make a descendent element as wide as an indirect ancestor. Basically, there's "ancestor" (unknown width, not full viewport) > "some layers of divs" (narrower than ancestor) > "my thing" (I want this to be as wide as "ancestor"). Is this a thing it is possible to do with CSS?

@[email protected] Hello! Quick question: I've upgraded from 1.0.5 to 1.0.7 and all my feeds are suddenly very slow (almost all loads time out, even with a single user active). Federation is fine. Any suggestions on trouble shooting what may have gone wrong in the upgrade? All migrations claim to have run, and there's nothing suspicious in the logs beyond the timeouts that I have seen so far.

Different bits of @VisualInk work best with very different storage patterns so I finally bit the bullet and wrote my own data access layer with... #sql. Did I get object mapping for free? No, I had to hand craft some code there. Does the new version have less storage overhead, safer migrations, transactions across multiple operations, and enourmously higher performance? Yes, yes it does. The API you can build with a #fsharp computational expression to make carrying the connection pool and transaction info is pretty sweet.

Now I just need to deploy it to prod before teaching the next course using it (which is next week).

Muhahahaha! Hack successful. By publicly announcing my brain was irrationally not doing a thing, my brain decided that was too stupid for words and now I have done the thing. I only procrastinated the five minute job for 6 hours, so not too bad at all.

I have one, simple, straight forward job that I was planning to do today. And my brain has decided it doesn't want to do it.

Ideally... I'll do the thing at some point. But the much bigger challenge is not trying to force it, which I know from #ADHD experience will just block me from doing everything else.
